Equinox, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Nova-class scout, Starfleet registry NCC-72381. Commanded by Rudolph Ransom. The Equinox was trapped in the Delta Quadrant in 2370 by the Caretaker, in the same manner in which the starship Voyager became displaced the next year. ("Equinox" [VGR]). Entry incomplete.
Erickson, Alexander T.: Medical technician aboard the starship Enterprise. ("Cloak" [Pocket TOS Section 31]).
Eris.: Vorta Female who was brought to the Alpha Quadrant by Sisko following a supposed escape from Jem'Hadar forces. Later she was found to be Dominion spy and vanished without trace during arrest attempt. ("The Jem'Hadar" [DS9]). Played by Molly Hagan.
Eristas.: Earth colony, the home planet of Enterprise engineer Moves-With-Burning-Grace. The people of Eristas are descended from Masai populations of Earth, and grow extremely tall thanks to their planets light gravity. The vast plains promote speedy forms of travel, which makes velocity an important, almost spiritual, part of Eristan lives. ("Flesh of My Flesh" [Marvel EV #1]).
Eristans.: Human colonists of the planet Eristas. ("Flesh of My Flesh" [Marvel EV #1]).

Eskiis, U.S.S.: Federation starship proposed during the 23rd century. This vessel's construction was cancelled, and it's registry was assigned to another vessel. (Technical Manual [Franz Joseph TOS]; Ships of the Star Fleet [Mastercom]). It's possible ships of these names were still built, of different classes and registry numbers. If built, this ship would have been Achernar-class, with the registry NCC-1789, according to the manuals.
Esoqq.: Chalnoth. ("Allegiance" [TNG #66]). Played by Reiner Schöne. Entry incomplete.
ESP.: SEE: extrasensory perception. ("Where No Man Has Gone Before" [TOS #1]).
Essahir, U.S.S.: Federation starship. (Ships of the Star Fleet, vol.1).
Essex, U.S.S.: Federation starship, a cruiser-type vessel, Starfleet registry NCC-1697. The new Essex was built in the 23rd century. (Federation Starship Recognition Manual [FASA RPG]). The registry is from the Star Trek Encyclopedia's list, originated in Greg Jein chart reading from "Court-Martial" The Franz Joseph manuals list this as NCC-1727, and the FASA manual lists the registry as NCC-1719. The manuals also list this as a Constitution-class vessel, one of hundreds.
Essejj.: Datugad god of stability. ("So Near the Touch" [DC TOS Annual #1]).
Essejjians.: Religious sect on the planet Datugad, worshipping Essejj, the god of stability. ("So Near the Touch" [DC TOS Annual #1]).
Eta Lupi.: Star in Federation space whose system contains the planet Cerberus. (Star Fleet Intelligence--Operations Manual [FASA RPG]).
Etana Kol.: Bajoran security sergeant. ("Twilight" [Pocket DS9 Mission: Gamma #1]).
Etashnan.: Native of Rigel VII. ("Our Dearest Blood" [Marvel EV #3]).
E'Tyshra.: ("Armageddon Game" [DS9]). Played by Darleen Carr.
Eugenics Wars.: The Eugenics Wars occured on Earth during the late twentieth century, mainly during the early 1990's. The wars were lead by genetically enhanced superman Khan Noonien Singh and his followers of other genetically enhanced humans, all the poducts of secret underground genetic research done in the 1970's, under a project named Chrysalis, involving some of Earth's major genetic scientists of the time. In the 1990s, Singh and his followers took control of almost 40 of Earth's nations nearly simultaneously. The war didn't reach the full view of the public until 1992, although some of the resulting Middle East, African and Eastern European conflicts were publicized. In 1996, during the wars' climax, Singh and nearly 80 of his followers escaped on a DY-100 sublight cryogenic suspenion interplanetary cruiser named the Botany Bay, only to be encountered by Captain James Kirk of the Federation Starship Enterprise (NCC-1701) on stardate 3141.9 near the Ceti Alpha system. By the time the USS Voyager traveled through time to 1996 Earth, there was very little concern over the war among the population of Los Angeles. The Eugenics Wars were Earth's last world war before World War 3 in the 2050's. The Eugenics Wars are the basis for genetic manipulation being against Federation law. Euphrates, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Danube-class runabout. ("Demons of Air and Darkness" [Pocket Gateways #4]).
Europa Nova.: Terran colony world. ("Demons of Air and Darkness" [Pocket Gateways #4]; "Twilight" [Pocket DS9 Mission: Gamma #1]).
Evek.: Cardassian gul in the Cardassian Fourth Order. Evek lost 2 of his three sons in the Border Wars with the Federation. While commander of the warship Vetar, he was responsible for Cardassian activity along the UFP border. Later became the Cardassian attaché to the new Demilitarized Zone. ("Journey's End" [TNG]; "The Maquis" [DS9]; "Caretaker" [VGR #1&2]). Played by Richard Poe.
Exar, Albar.: ("Ni Var" [Bantam TOS New Voyage]).
Excalibur.: Experimnetal weapon system. ("The Enchanted Pool" [Bantam TOS New Voyage]).
Excalibur, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Constitution-class heavy cruiser, Starfleet registry NCC-1664. Commanded by Captain Harris. The Excalibur's science department included Lieutenant Terise Heleakala-LoBrutto, although she would later be transferred to a secret mission by Starfleet Intelligence. Shortly after her departure, the Excalibur was ordered to participate in a miltary test exercise. While in a wargame simulation the M-5 control computer aboard the starship Enterprise malfunctioned, causing the vessel to release a full-power attack on this ship. The Excalibur's entire crew was killed in this freak accident in 2268. ("The Ultimate Computer" [TOS]; Federation Starship Recognition Manual [FASA RPG]).

Excalibur, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Ambassador-class heavy cruiser, Starfleet registry NCC-26517. The second starship to bear the name. The Starship Excalibur was constructed at the Earth Station McKinley Shipbuilding Facility in orbit of Earth, and the vessel was launched in 2342 on stardate 31032.6. Under the temporary command of Commander William Riker, the Excalibur served as part of Picard's armada in the Klingon civil war of 2367-68. Following this incident, permanent command of the Excalibur was given to Captain Morgan Korsmo. In this era, the ship proved instrumental to the rescue of Starfleet personnel captured by Commander Sela in 2372. The Excalibur was commanded by Captain Morgan Korsmo until the battle with the Borg at Earth in 2373, where he was killed. Following this much of the Excalibur's crew was reassigned, including first officer Shelby. Shelby tranferred back to the Excalibur to serve as executive to Captain Mackenzie Calhoun, her former fiance. The vessel, newly refurbished and equipped with cutting edge equipment, was charged with a mission to chart Sector 221-G, formerly space owned by the defunct Thallonian Empire. ("Redemption" [TNG]; "Imzadi II: Triangle" [Pocket TNG]; "House of Cards" [Pocket NF]; "Bridge Commander" [Activision]). In Activision's "Bridge Commander," set close to the beginning of the Dominion War, the Excalibur was stationed at Starbase 12 under the command of Captain William Morrison. It still possible that the Excalibur might have visited Starbase 12, but it would definitely under the command of Mac Calhoun.

Excalibur-A, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Galaxy-class explorer, Starfleet registry NCC-26517-A. The third starship to bear the name. The Excalibur-A was commissioned in 2376 as a replacement for the original vessel with that name that was destroyed by General Gerrid Thul's dormant computer virus. The ship is a newly built Galaxy-class vessel, however modifications made to that design have eliminated many of the civilian accomodations that were present in vessels of that type built before the Dominion War. Command of the vessel was assigned to the former first officer of the last Excalibur, Elizabeth Shelby, who had been serving as the captain of the starship Exeter. At the commissioning ceremony for the Excalibur-A however, the presumed deceased Captain Mackenzie Calhoun stormed aboard. ("Excalibur: Restoration" [Pocket NF]).

Excelsior-class.: Type of Federation starship classified as an explorer. Called "The Great Experiment," the Excelsior-class was developed in the 2280s as a testbed for transwarp drive and other revolutionary enhancements to Starfleet vessels. After the failure of transwarp physics, the class was retrofit with standard warp drive and quickly proved itself as one of the most durable and powerful designs, replacing the Constitution-class as the backbone of the Starfleet. ("The Search for Spock" [Movie #3]; "The Undiscovered Country" [Movie #6]).
Excelsior, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Excelsior-class cruiser, Starfleet registry NCC-2000. Commanded by Captain Styles and, later, Captain Hikaru Sulu. ("The Search for Spock" [Movie #3]; "The Undiscovered Country" [Movie #6]).
Exeter, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Constitution-class heavy cruiser, Starfleet registry NCC-1672. Under the command of Ronald Tracey, the Exeter visited Omega IV. It was there that an alien contagion was brought on board the vessel, dessicating all 429 of its crew. The only survivor was Captain Tracey, who had remained on the planet with the natives, protected from ill effects by natural elements of the planets environment. ("The Omega Glory" [TOS]; Ships of the Star Fleet [Mastercom]; Federation Starship Recognition Manual [FASA RPG]).
Exeter, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Ambassador-class heavy cruiser, Starfleet registry NCC-26531. Thomas Paris served aboard the Exeter prior to his stay in the New Zealand Penal Settlement. In 2374, this ship was part of the Ninth Fleet headquarted at Deep Space 9. This vessel was involved with fighting on the Dominion front and submitted casualty reports which were received by Deep Space 9. After the end of the Dominion War, command of this ship was assigned to Captain Elizabeth Shelby, late of the starship Excalibur. She served for six months on Exeter before taking command of the starship Trident. ("Non Sequitur" [VGR]; "You Are Cordially Invited" [DS9]; "In the Pale Moonlight" [DS9 #143]; "Excalibur: Restoration" [Pocket NF]). This vessel's name and registry is derived from Okuda's Encyclopedia. The "In the Pale Moonlight" names and status reports came from a casualty report shown in a background computer display.
exobiology.: Starfleet Academy course of study. ("Encounter at Farpoint" [TNG #1&2]).
Explorer, U.S.S.: Federation starship commanded by Lewis Randall. ("New Worlds" [Interplay TOS]).
extrasensory perception.: ("Where No Man Has Gone Before" [TOS #1]).
Eymorg.: ("Spock's Brain" [TOS]).
