of sectors, grouped into four quadrants. Sectors are usually numbered,
although in common usage may be named for a major star or planet located
in that sector. Some sectors are not named or numbered in sequence with

a human child who was assimilated by the Borg. Seven of Nine was the Borg
drone who was chosen to facilitate contact with the crew of the Federation
starship Voyager when a method of defeating Species 8472 was developed
on that vessel. When the Borg attempted to assimilate Voyager in violation
of their agreement with Captain Janeway, Commander Chakotay ordered the
cargo bay the had assimilated as their base of operations vented to space.
Seven of Nine was the only unit to survive that incident, and was cut from
the collective after she again tried to take Voyager. The Doctor removed
her implants and she is now being encouraged to once again take part in
life as a human as a crewmember aboard Voyager. ("Scorpion" [VGR
